The exhumation process is still running in Shakahola forest. The government has spent weeks trying to get more bodies who died at Shakahola forest after being allegedly mislead by controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie. The government pathologist, Dr. Johansen Oduor and other government officials from the crime departments set camp at the mass grave.

Latest news from the government has revealed a disheartening situation at the place. According to reports, the number of dead people have increased to 339. It has revealed also that there are fourty more mass graves which indicates that there could be more bodies. This report was released after phase four of the process began on Monday.

Earlier, there were allegations that Mackenzie owner the land in which the mass graves were found. But Lands and Physical Planning PS Nixon Korir has said that no records show that the preacher owned the 800-acre piece of land.

Korir told this to the senate Ad hoc committee that was set to investigate Shakahola deaths. Interior CS Kithure Kindiki issued a statement today about Shakahola. He said that the government will do everything possible to ensure such a tragedy doesn’t occur.

He sent a message to preachers who oppose government’s efforts to conduct a crackdown on rogue preachers that the government will not relent.
