A pastor, Controversial figure from the Mwanza region in the northern part of neighboring Tanzania, Mfalme Zumaridi, has once again found herself in a dispute with the authorities. This time, it is due to a video that has been circulating, showing her preaching to children that there is no other God but herself.
According to reports from the Southern region of Kenya, Mfalme Zumaridi, who faced similar accusations last year and was embroiled in legal troubles, has apparently repeated the same offense. In the video, she can be seen passionately asserting her self-proclaimed divinity in front of a large group of children, stating that she alone is God and that no other deity exists or will ever arise. Zumaridi was heard telling the children saying,
“Zumaridi is your God and your helper, Zumaridi is the one who shields you from death. Mfalme Zumaridi is your God under the sun and the ruler of the whole world. She governs all things on Earth and in Heaven and grants you the key to eternal life.”
After finishing her sermon, Mfalme Zumaridi promised the children the reward of preparing them delicious treats as a way to delight them for their obedience and proper worship.
However, the video sparked outrage among many social media users, with strong criticism and comparisons being made to controversial Kenyan pastor Paul Mackenzie. Pastor Mackenzie has been accused of preaching to his followers that the only way to encounter God is through extreme fasting, depriving oneself of food and water.
