The ministry of education CS Ezekiel Machogu has announced that the government has plans to employ more teachers to address the issue of shortage of teachers in schools.
Machogu siad that in the 2023/24 fiscal year the government will employ 24,000 teachers. In the last fiscal year the government employed 36,000 teachers thefore a total of 60,000 will be reached.
“In the next financial year, we will hire an additional of 24,000 teachers. It is crucial that we deploy these teachers in our schools in a manner that refelects equity.” Machogu stated.
This fiscal year, education sector was allocated sh. 628.6 billion which makes 29 percent of the total disbursed funds which is a rise from last year’s allocation of sh. 544.4 billion.Education in the country will be better.
