Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has come out strongly to refute claims of having verbally attacked her party leader Raila Odinga.
Taking to her verified twitter handle, the ODM MP shared a news excerpt from an online blog. In the excerpt, Passaris was reported to have made the statement below in reference to Raila Odinga.
“Wewe Raila wacha kuniletea kisirani. I was elected to represent the people of Nairobi not the Odinga family. Vitisho utapeleka kwako usinipee pressure. Wacha kunipigia simu. I’m not your girlfriend.”
However, the ODM MP denied having made such a statement, terming the news fake. According to Passaris, she would never use such a language to speak about Raila Odinga since she has a lot of respect for him.
“Treat this fake news with the contempt it deserves. I have nothing but respect for my party leader, the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga,” she said.
Passaris has been under pressure from ODM ever since she sided with Kenya Kwanza MPs during the debate on the contentious Finance Bill 2023.
