Ministry of education has warned principals against sending pupils at home for failing to pay school fees as it has released Sh 24 billion in capitation money to primary and secondary schools.
The amount is less by 4 billion what Ezekiel Machogu, the secretary of education cabinet, agreed to provide to learning institution one week ago. This comes amid claims that some schoolers were seen on the way home roaming as they go back for money.
They acquired the fund on Friday but there are numerous complains from head of education centre and other stakeholders that it’s not enough due to enormous debts they are experiencing.
“Yes, we have received capitation, though it is small,we don’t know how to spend this cash given the obligation we have been accruing,we can not rely on tuition only, especially us who run national boarding and keeping in touch that food expense is high,” stated one head.
