Interior cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki has made some statements touching on the fate of cult preacher Paul Mackenzie who is currently in police custody and has been attending various court sessions for hearing of his case.

On Monday, June 5, the interior cabinet secretary stated that pastor Mackenzie is going to stay in prison for Life over the Shakahola incident that led to the death of various followers.He stated the cult preacher will stay in prison for life even if he is released by the courts.

“Mackenzie is going to stay in prison for life.Even if he is released by the courts, we will return him there till the day he dies and meets God for his judgement,” he stated.

He at the same time took a swipe at religious leaders who misleading Kenyans.Kindiki urged Kenyans to help expose,isolate and punish the small minority of crooks hiding behind scriptures to mislead people through religious extremism.

“90% of the religious leaders are honest people who add value to the lives of our people. I urge them to help us expose, isolate, and punish the small minority of crooks hiding behind scriptures to mislead our people through religious extremism,” he said.
