Former CS Eugene Wamalwa has said that the government is losing support in Mt Kenya region.
The opposition has maintained that the government is imposing heavy taxes on Kenyans. Finance Bill proposed by Kenya Kwanza is under attack from opposition and a section of leaders allied to the government. Ruto and DP Gachagua have threatened to deal with the MPs who will oppose the Finance Bill.
“It is not secret that Kenya Kwanza is losing support of the Mt Kenya region day by day and they are aware of it,” Wamalwa said.
Azimio Leader Raila Odinga cast doubt on Gachagua’s family’s participation in the war for Kenyan independence during the news conference. In addition, the previous prime minister mentioned that Gachagua’s family may have been among the collaborators during the era of colonial authority.
