The high court of Kenya has certified as urgent a petition file by Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah and other four activists seeking to lock the controversial Finance Bill 2023. According to the latest news, Justice Hedwig Ong’undi considered this petition by revealing that it should be heard priority basis as it raises triable issues on this Bill which many Kenyans think that it may be a burden to them.
However, the High Court has left aside one weapon which William Ruto might use to win this case when it undergoes through all stages of hearing and final judgement.Despite that Justice Hedwig did not bar the National Assembly from discussing and transmitting the impugned Bill from President William Ruto, it might be a open opportunity for him because he owns a big number of politicians in the house.
