When Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, said that President William Ruto’s manifesto lacked a clear plan for guiding the country, Ruto took the opportunity to publicly educate Odinga on the subject of economic recovery.
At the funeral for freedom fighter Field Marshal Mukami Kimathi in Nyandarua, President Ruto blamed Uhuru and Raila for the country’s economic woes, from which it has taken him some time to recover. Among other things, he blamed Uhuru for the high price of Unga by placing an undue burden on farmers through his policy of subsidising consumption rather than production. In addition, Ruto conceded that Raila can only beat him in terms of history, but that Raila cannot advise him on the country’s economic position.
You reduce the cost of living by subsidizing production you don’t subsidize consumption, hapo kwa cost of living nakubaliana lakini nyinyi ndio mliharibu.
