The Kenyan government broke its silence this afternoon and issued a strong warning to all Kenyans residing in famous local and regional areas. A press release from the Kenyan government dated today, May 12, 2023, states that new regulations have been put in place to slow down the country’s unprecedented development in plastic bag production and subsequent sales.
The Kenyan government revealed severe penalties for anyone discovered making, purchasing, or using plastic bags in Kenya, as well as for anyone found to be an embodiment of them, providing a glimpse of some of the recently entrenched prohibitions.
A fine of Ksh 4,000,000 would be imposed on anyone found selling plastic bags, according to information made public by the Kenyan government. The Kenyan government claims that the recently implemented tariff on the sale of plastic bags will greatly lessen the amount of environmental harm caused by plastic bag deposition.
