Following Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga’s denial of access to the Shakahola massacre victims, former Mukurweini Member of Parliament (MP) Kabando wa Kabando sent a stern warning to the newly formed Kenya Kwanza coalition administration.

The government should not have prevented Mr. Odinga from seeing the shooting victims, the former lawmaker claimed in a tweet on May 5, 2023, hours after the news broke. Doing so would have easily led to a potential political ploy in the days to come.

Mr. Kabando also said that the opposition should have been allowed to conduct its own investigation because Kilifi County has long been considered a bastion of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Do you concur with Mr. Kabando that Mr. Odinga should have been able to see the victims of the Shakahola massacre? Why do you suppose he was denied access to the victim? As you wait for additional updates, share your thoughts in the section below.
