In the modern world, one of the biggest questions faced by women upon marriage is whether to adopt her husband’s name or not.
This is because even though ideally a woman is supposed to take on her husband’s name after them exchanging the vows, some women out there have been spotted going against the idea.
A good example is famous NTV Swahili news anchor Fridah Mwaka, who refused to use her husband’s name after the two got married in November 2019.
According to the sassy anchor, she and her husband Samuel Nguma Ndhuli had an agreement beforehand for her not to use the surname.
This is because she wanted to maintain her brand of Fridah Mwaka, which is separate from her private life.
Other women like famous Ugandan socialite-cum-businesswoman Zari Hassan, have warmly adopted the names of their husbands after marriage.
Taking to her Instagram stories in one of her latest posts, the voluptuous queen disclosed that she now goes by the moniker of Mrs Lutaaya, the name of her hubby Shakib Cham Lutaaya.
Zari Hassan disclosed this after sharing a mirror video of herself and captioned it “Mrs Lutaaya” as shown below.
