Eugene Wamalwa, a former member of Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet and defense docket member on May 4, reemerged online hours after their news conference and posted a statement.

Wamalwa, a key member of the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition, denied accusations that the opposition is vying for a post in Ruto’s administration in a statement on his official Twitter.

Wamalwa claims that among other things that are very beneficial to regular Kenyans, the opposition is working for election justice and multiparty democracy.

” As Azimio we are not fighting for nusu Mkate deals with the KK regime, but for higher ideals of defending our multiparty democracy, electoral Justice and realization of political &social economic rights of all Kenyans as enshrined under articles 21,35,37,38 &43of our Constitution”, he wrote.

His sentiment comes after the Azimio la Umoja camp, led by former prime minister Raila Odinga, met with their negotiation committee for new orders prior to the two sides’ scheduled bipartisan negotiations.

Additionally, Mr. Odinga denied assertions made by Ruto’s allies that his party is looking for positions in government.

It should be remembered that Raila Odinga stopped his mass protests yesterday, opening the door for negotiations with the camp of William Ruto, which has been taking a tough posture on any prospective reconciliation between Ruto and Raila.
