The deputy president, hon. Rigathi Gachagua, and the mother of the late president Uhuru Kenyatta, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, have been engaged in a nasty verbal battle in the Mount Kenya region.
The wife of Mzee Jommo Kenyatta, who is credited with founding the nation of Kenya, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, recently chastised Hon Rigathi Gachagua for using the slogan “Mau Mau Sons.”
The true mau Mau fighters, not the pretenders who identify as the progeny of the freedom fighters, are known to Kenyans, according to Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
After constructing her a home, she helped the independence fighter Muthoni clear a bank loan of more than 4 million shillings when she spoke.
This might have set off the opposite side of vice president hon. Rigathi Gachagua, who had reacted fiercely to Mama Ngina.
Even though they had lived there for 60 years without receiving assistance from the Kenyatta family, Gachagua said they had appreciated Mama Ngina’s decision to help the Mau Mau liberation warriors.
In addition, he suggested that Mama Ngina Kenyatta give the Mau Mau liberation fighters half of the family’s land holdings if she is sincere and willing to assist them.
Gachagua remarked, “We applaud the gesture, but even after sixty years of freedom, they should hand up half of their land, which was meant for the Mau Mau but snatched from them.
According to the vice president, the first family’s extensive land holdings were originally intended to be given to the Mau Mau tribe, but were instead taken away.
