Makanga Musa is a young man who is in his early 30s and is serving a life sentence for a crime he did not even commit. He was accused of raping and robbery with violence but he was not connected with this crime.

Musa was interviewed by Simon Kibe at Inooro tv, in this interview he said that he is serving a life sentence in Kingongo prison which is in Naivasha for the crimes that were committed by his younger brother and his three friends.

He said that his brother and his friends invaded a home of white man’s home where they stole phones and raped ladies who were there because they were under drug influence.

Musa continue to say that one of his brother’s friends gave him one of the phones which they stole and he asked Musa to check whether it was good, Musa inserted his sim card and he realized that that phone had a password which they did not know, so he told this friend to go and flash it.

When Musa inserted his sim card, his name appeared in the Safaricom data and he was tracked by the police officers. When he was arrested and taken to court all crimes were directed to him while the real robbers were set free.

Musa was sentenced to death in the year 2015 but due to President Uhuru’s mercy he was not hanged as was supposed and it was changed to a life sentence.

Musa’s message to the police and the judge who sentenced him is that they should not sentence a person according to the books of law but according to the evidence and truth because in his case the real robbers are free but he is sentenced despite being innocent.
