The family of the couple, from Nyamora, who were assassinated while on holiday in Africa has revealed alarming claims regarding an unnamed visitor who came to the residence the night the couple was murdered.
Samuel Matundura, the grandson of the late Edward Morema, reports that the night before his grandparents were murdered, a man who seemed known to them spent the night at their home in Nyamakoroto, Nyamira county.
Matundura claimed that he had contacted his grandfather Morema the night they were murdered. Before to going to sleep, they had a brief conversation in which he assured him that everything was well. Morema hid his visitor from his grandson.
The housekeeper, who had been working there for a week, had prepared dinner for the family and their guest, Matundura said, and then left them in the living area before retiring to the bedroom.
The farmhand has his own house in the same compound, but he rarely sets foot inside. He did what he always did and shut the main gate to the compound before going into his home, which was only a few metres away.
Police are currently investigating the slaying of the elderly couple and have arrested both the housekeeper and the farmhand.
