On March 20th of this year, a mass protest against president Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance government is planned, according to Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, the presidential candidate for the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Movement.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance government, according to Hon. Raila, must be overthrown because it lacks legitimacy. Additionally, he asserts that the president broke his pledge to lower living expenses.
The church leaders claimed that the government looked helpless in arresting the skyrocketing prices of commodities as they seem to rise exponentially.
“It is unacceptable that the government of the day appears helpless even as the cost of basic commodities continues to rise exponentially. Commodities such as unga, petrol, cooking oil and bread have all increased in price in recent months ranging from 20 to 40%,” he said in a statement.
According to Bishop David Kodia of the Anglican Diocese of Bondo has accused the government of William Ruto of favoring only two communities in appointments, despite the fact that all Kenyans pay taxes.
“These demonstrations that we are watching from Azimio are essentially a form of protest against the exclusivity that we are witnessing in this nation.” “The two communities, so to speak, tend to dominate everything, including all the appointments we have in this nation, whereas all of us pay taxes, including those who did not vote for this government,” Bishop Kodia remarked
