The vibrant and joyful Kenyan artist Mejja strained to give his all during his performance at the Shoke Shoke festival.Arya Starr was the headlining performance at the festival, which took place on March 4 at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC), and other Kenyan performers included Khaligraph Jones, Boutrous, The OnlyRosa, and Mejja himself.Mejja had difficulty with his performance at the Shoke Shoke festival despite his efforts to return to music and create new music.His voice was low and he lacked his normal fire, so the hype emcees had to support him extensively with playback and crowd chants throughout his performance.
Mejja had taken a vacation from music owing to throat issues, and this was his first concert in two months.
He had explained his ailment and how his doctor had urged him to take a vacation from singing to Willy M Tuva of Mseto East Africa.
Following his poor performance, majority of his fans came out to console him.
