Karis Magic is a renown Kikuyu Benga musician and a business man who is always well grounded to be distracted by naysayers. He is a brother to Samidoh Muchoki who is also a Kikuyu secular artist doing wonders in the music industry. Karis was in an interview where he talked about how he actualized Samidoh’s music career.
According to him, after their mother died in 2005 relatives shared children amongst themselves but Samidoh stood firm that he would live in their former home alone. Since Karis Magic was living in Nairobi, he would only shave his hair in the village so that when anyone reminded him that his hair was big he would remember he had a brother living alone and he needed to be taken care of where he would go and visit him while shaving.
He realized that Samidoh had a talent in firm one and he would call him to Nairobi since his friends were queen Jane, kamande Wa Kioi among many others where he would create a platform for him to sing. One day Queen Jane advised Karis to empower Samidoh’s talent since it would be great one day.
After form four he connected him to kamande Wa Kioi and he started his music journey from there. After releasing his first song it wasn’t recorded well and Karis had to pay again in a different studio and it was recorded again making it a hit. He would use his money to go with him everywhere he was called to sing to make sure he was the one correcting his mistakes until he became a professional which he is proud of.
