Days after President William Ruto met with a section of the Orange Democratic Movement party members of Parliament drwan from the Luo Nyanza region, the party has expelled Bondo constituency member of Parliament Hon Gideon Ochanda from his position as the Secretary of the party Bondo branch.

The announcement was made by Siaya senator Dr Oburu Odinga who is the Bondo Branch Chairman, also present during the meeting was Branch vice chairperson George Mawere. The former prime minister Raila Odinga’s eldest brother announced that the new Bondo Branch Secretary will be East Yimbo MCA Francis Otiato.

While making the announcement, the Siaya senator accused President Wiliam Ruto of an attempt to weaken the party by buying its members, he claimed that that Ochanda had fallen victim to Ruto’s antics adding that they can nolonger have him as party official.
The Orange Democratic Movement party members of Parliament who met with President Wiliam Ruto are facing disciplinary action over the move which the party described as selfishness. The party distanced itself from such meetings stating that no one gave them the permission to meet with the president.
Migori County senator Eddy Oketch later wrote to the party demanding that the members of Parliament be Punished and their names be removed from the party’s Register.
The members of Parliament; Felix Odiwuor, Elisha Odhiambo, Professor Tom Ojienda, Mark Nyamita, Caroli Omondi, Gideon Ochanda, and John Owino Are expected to appear before the disciplinary committee to explain themselves.
This even as president William Ruto maintaining that he is free to work with any member of Parliament irrespective of their political affiliation as he is the President. Ruto has always maintained that he is only interested in ensuring that all region are Developed.
