Nairobi County Senator who doubles up as Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary-General Hon. Edwin Sifuna has now called out the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition members who are meeting with President as dishonest. His remarks come after a section of ODM and Jubilee party leaders met with President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi yesterday and today.

The legislators going to the State House to talk about development, in the opinion of Hon. Edwin Sifuna is irrational. He noted that it was clear that there was another ulterior motive behind the meetings. He downplayed some of the justifications offered for the sessions, challenging the Members of Parliament to make public a list of the decisions made there so that their constituents might hold them responsible for execution. This comes after Jubilee Secretary-General Hon. Jeremiah Kioni revealed that disciplinary action is being taken against the 30 MPs who met with William Ruto at State House on Wednesday.

Narok County Senator Hon. Ledama Ole Kina also reached out to the Jubilee party Secretary-General to reach out to former President Uhuru Kenyatta to hold a meeting with Jubilee party members in a bid to strengthen the Azimio One Kenya coalition movement.

The lawmakers from Azimio la Umoja Coalition who recently met with President William Ruto at the State House have been under fire from Senator Edwin Sifuna for being dishonest politicians. This comes after President Ruto met with more than 30 Jubilee Members of Parliament on Wednesday and a similar group from the ODM who visited the State House yesterday, during which they committed to cooperating with the Kenya Kwisha administration.

“As a taxpayer, you are not required to beg for development. Just like the government doesn’t call you to the State House when taxing you, you likewise don’t need a meeting there to get development. It is your right. These statehouse visitors are being dishonest but you already knew that,” Edwin Sifuna remarked.
