Celebrated Tanzanian singer Rehema Chalamila popularly known as Ray C is currently expecting a child.

The award-winning musician made the big announcement today via her Instagram account, where she flaunted a short video clip that showed that she had a baby bump.
According to the video Ray C was presumably at a restaurant, and this is because she had sat down doing something that was not clear.
However when she focused the camera on her stomach area, it was clear that the ‘Sogea Sogea’ hit maker had a grown baby bump.
Ray C, who is 40-years-old now, further accompanied the post with a caption gushing over her pregnancy, saying that God’s time was the best.
“Wakati wa Mungu ni wakati sahihi” she wrote.

Ray C, the secretive celebrity
From the above announcement, it is clear that Ray C has not disclosed many details about the pregnancy including the identity of her soon baby-daddy-to-be.
This however comes as no surprise because the award-winning musician loves to keep her matters away from the limelight.
This is to the extent that despite Ray C being a veteran singer in Tanzania, details of her personal life especially with regards to her family and relationships still remain very scanty.
What is known for sure however is that the singer used to date a man by the moniker of Lord Eyez awhile back, and he is the boyfriend who actually introduced her to drugs.
For those who may not know, Ray C struggled with drug addiction for almost two years.
However she managed to overcome it after she underwent a serious rehabilitation process, under the watch of former President Jakaya Kikwete who came to her rescue.
The two however broke up few years ago, and in 2013 the sassy singer said that she regretted meeting him.

The break up however was too much for Ray C who now lives in France to handle, because it resulted in her finding solace in drugs after being heartbroken.
In 2016 however, Ray C disclosed that she was still single after the break up, and that she would never date a celebrity again.
“…for now, celebrities and I won’t cook in the same pot. I would rather date a mkokoteni man who loves me dearly. When I love, i do so wholeheartedly – that explains why most of my compositions are love songs” she said then.
If her sentiments then are anything to go by, then we can assume that Ray C’s baby-daddy-to-be is atleast not a celebrity.
