It seems that most of our politicians are superhuman, that is if you believe their stories(and sometimes their supporters) about themselves.
Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga is the latest politician to come out with an interesting and captivating claim about how she made her money.
During an interview with Mc Jessy, Milly made the bombshell revelation that she had made her first million at 19 and managed to buy her first car at the age of 20.
She said that the money was as a result of supplying bedsheets to a hotel in Eldoret while she was still a student at The University of Nairobi.
“When I joined University, I started my business, I made my first million when I was 19 years old and by 20 I bought my new car. And even those I was with at the University could tell you Milly was a rich girl and not because I was being given money by my parents.”

Adding, “I would use the school, Kidogo, unaenda unanunua vitu, unauza and by the time exam inafika pesa yangu nitakuwa nimeiroll for three months imeleta profit na nimelipa school fees and I continued like that…I was selling merchandise, including bed sheets…I’m one of the biggest suppliers of bedsheets in this county up to date…
“I supplied a hotel in Eldoret called Mariot…that had 60 rooms and my working capital was not that much, so I went to the bank and they only gave me 150K basing on my transactions… so I went and bought the bedsheets and supplied and that’s how I got my first million…I was paid cash,” said Millicent Omanga.
After her claim went viral, some Kenyans online had some disparaging comments to make on her claim.
Her story is really impressive if true and not entirely as implausible as many of our leaders who can’t explain the source of their fabulous wealth till today.
