Well his sentiments were also echoed by the writer and director of the film Julia Barnett, who said in one of her posts that she has been working on it for the past 3 years.
“Three years ago I started a journey to make a proof of concept for a family TV show called Slum Angel. The show has been in and out of development with some of the best of Hollywood. Some dreams are quick to reality. Others take a bit more time” she wrote in part.
Julia Barnett further stated that even though making the show might take her a little longer, she will release the concept next week.
She also went ahead and introduced two other characters that will feature in the show i.e Angel (Rahmah Nassimba Kiyemba) and Abdul (Laurean Rugyendo Rugambwa).
Angel is a young girl who lives in a poor community. She inherits some powers from her mum when she dies, and uses them to make the lives of her community better.
Meanwhile Abdul is Angel’s best friend. He is a street boy who loves to make jokes about American TV shows. The two later start a detective agency as a way to provide for their loved ones.
