Celebrated Kenyan musician Akothee has announced the loss of her unborn baby. The singer was expecting her sixth child but unfortunately lost the pregnancy. Taking to her social media pages, the mother of five shared videos that showed doctors attending to her at the hospital. In the videos in question, several doctors are seen fighting to treat Akothee who was unconscious on the hospital bed. Akothee’s boyfriend was beside her holding her hand.
It remains unknown what exactly transpired leading to the loss. The award-winning musician was careful not to reveal the details surrounding the loss apart from the time of its occurrence.
“Pole we lost our baby. Yesterday at 1.00 pm 17th 12. 2022,” Akothee’s caption on one of the videos read.
Kenyans on social media took to the comment section of the post to express their condolences. The netizens wished her strength to overcome the loss. Some of the celebrities who came out to offer their condolences were renowned media personality Mwende Macharia, Tanzanian star musician Vanessa Mdee and popular YouTuber Kabi Wa Jesus.
Following the loss, Akothee has gone silent on her social media pages. She has not shared any posts after the announcement of the loss. It appears that the singer took a break from the internet to mourn the loss and to also recover.
This comes just a few days after she announced that she was planning to have her sixth child. In the social media post, she noted that the baby was a gift to her current boyfriend for the immense love he had shown her.
