Wangari Wa Kabera is among the most popular Kikuyu mugithii musician born and raised in Nyahururu. She was brought into the music industry by the late queen Jane and wahome Maingi who were also popular Kikuyu Benga musicians.
Some hours ago she was live in an interview where she talked about her music career and how it started. She was accompanied by her mother who explained how hard it was raising her. She said that Wangari dropped out of school in class three which angered her Soo much and she would beat her and give her harsh punishment but at the end of the day she didn’t go back to school.
She started her mugithii music in clubs to a point he would sell alcohol which made her the talk of the town. People used to say that she gave birth to a prostitute since by then whoever was going to clubs was termed as a prostitute. She didn’t give up on her despite the insults from people and she feels very happy living a comfortable life because of the girl they called a prostitute. Watch the full video below.
