The new Government has now taken full control of everything after the last nomination of principal secretaries all nominated by president William Ruto himself. Though the process has been termed biased both gender and regional distribution. what remains now is the vetting process which will be conducted in Parliament
Kenya’ s kwanza government had a strict vow not to include even a single opposition leader in their government which they termed as a bad idea because they wanted to have a very strong opposition for oversight. Rigathi Gachagua who is the current deputy president has strictly warned the Azimio leader publicly that there will be no stake for them in their government and they should brace their opposition title very well.
They claim that without strong opposition there will be no delivery and it will help them check and ensure that they work for all Kenyans. The reason why they keep on attacking Raila Odinga to play his opposition role is very unknown given the fact that he is old and will be leaving the Political scene very soon.
The only stable and tough person left to challenge Ruto’ s government is Kalonzo Musyoka who is the wiper party leader in the Azimio Coalition. They know very well that if kalonzo sticks to the opposition and Criticizes their government where they go wrong he will gain a lot of popularity in the next five years before the general election.
In videos going around on social media, we see both the president and his deputy challenging Kalonzo Musyoka to stop putting Ukambani people in Opposition for a very long time but should instead think about how he is going to bring them into government. They are telling kalonzo that if he accepts they will work together in their new Government and make sure all is well for him and his Ukambani people.
To many people, these sentiments are mind games mend to lure kalonzo and waste him just as it was done to Raila Odinga when he decided to work with the government.
Kalonzo is likely to be on the ballot come 2027 and the only way he will earn people’ s interest is to take the full mantle of opposition and fight for the common mwananchi. He commands a very good number of votes and given the fact he might earn Raila Odinga’ s fan base then there are high chances he might challenge Ruto’ s second term and become the next president of Kenya.
