Renowned Kenyan disk jockey DJ Kalonje has been involved in a heated online altercation with former Nairobi counter governor Mike Sonko.The bitter exchange of words started when DJ Kalonje came out to criticize Mike Sonko for failing to help him while he was facing troubles with his deejaying career.
According to a statement that was shared by the DJ, unknown cartels took away everything from him. He criticized politicians who failed to help him at the time of need. Apart from Mike Sonko, DJ Kalonje also called out former MP for Starehe Jaguar. He pointed out that the two had failed the entertainment industry and did not deserve to be int he current government.
“Politicians who had their chance to help the community but they did not!!! @jaguar.Kenya @mike.Sonko mafala…. I reached out when my studio was took over by somali cartel mulinizungusha… My dad died with depression coz his office was brought down within a day!” I single handedly brought my empire up again from scratch… Mungu ni nani na bado andthey u still ate the government money. I know amo, sakaja and my luwi mca will come through!! ..Maybe jalas will also help me seeing I came through his events h also see life now… But justice will prevail,” Kalonje’s statement read.
Mike SOnko has now replied to DJ Kalonje’s claiming off ailing to help him. In a bitter rant that he shared on his social media pages, the former governor claimed that DJ Kalonje never reached out to him for help. He further added that he is not obligated to help the deejay, citing that he offers help out of his own will.
“@deejaykalonje take your useless blackmail to hell, I’ve checked my Instagram inbox and you didn’t reach out to me. Usaidiwe na politician kwani we ni slay queen? nakama umekuwa shoste utuambie! Mimi sio red cross ati lazima nikusaidie, mafeelings zako na madepression zako za ma dame peleka mbali na mimi,” Mike Sonko’s response read.
