Controversial socialite Vera Sidika has found herself in trouble with a section of social media users following the release of her new song dubbed ‘Popstar’. Prior to the release of the song, the mother of one had gotten netizens talking with reports of undergoing a liposuction surgery. Vera Sidika had claimed that she was firced to undergo the surgery due to helath issues. And to prove her claims, she shared a video that was reportedly recorded during the procedure.
The socialite was, however, staging a publicity stunt to popularize her song. Whereas there those who love the track, there those who have been displeased by the publicity stunt that the socialite pulled.
A number of the netizens have come out to claim that the socialite chose a controversial subject for the stunt. They noted that there are victims of liposuction surgery and therefore she should not have made fun of the subject.
A number of the social media users argued that the move was insensitive to the victims of such procedures. Some went ahead to advise her to issue an apology. They noted that such an influential public figure is viewed by many as a role model and therefore should behave accordingly.
Depsite the heated debate on social media, Vera Sidika has remained silent and note issued any response. The socialite had been out of the showbiz industry for a while following her pregnancy. She appears to have made a comeback into the industry courtesy of the new release. It remains unknown whether she plans to stick to music or if she will go back to being a controversial socialite.
