Larry Gomez of California, sometimes known as “Wolf Man,” has gained the nickname due to the fact that he is covered in thick, black hair across about 100% of his body, including his face.
A man who is almost completely covered in hair has endured years of ridicule and persecution, but today he calls himself “world’s hairiest man.”
Many members of his family, including him, were born with congenital generalized hypertrichosis, a disorder that affects fewer than a hundred people worldwide.
Mr. Gomez, whose given name is Victor, was bullied and isolated at school by classmates and peers alike due to his out-of-the-ordinary appearance.
However, after becoming famous in Hollywood, he came to terms with his differences and is now widely recognized as the hairiest man on the planet.
Mr. Gomez just married Alicia Martinez, whom he met in 2011 while searching for an apartment, as a result of his increasing self-assurance.
He believes that by telling his story, others would learn to be comfortable in their own skin by learning to look beyond outward appearances.
In order to meet the famous ‘Wolf Man,’ Travis Hoefle, host of the YouTube channel Wizard of Odd TV, traveled all the way from Chicago to talk to him.
