City businessman Jamal Marlow, popularly known as Jimal Rohosafi, is known for his flashy lifestyle that draws a lot of influence on social media. He drives top-of-the-range vehicles and lives in the leafy suburbs, proof that he is well loaded.

However, before the glitz and glamour, he was a matatu conductor. The father of three, who is the Chairman of the Association of Matatu Operators and the CEO of a Microfinance company, started as a ”Makanga” in Eastlands.

Jimal is always proud of his humble beginnings. He took to his Facebook page and shared a throwback photo when he was struggling to make ends meet as a matatu conductor.

”Tbt……. When I was disturbing the streets, ndio mjue me sio mrahisi. #Conductor ( Makanga)” he captioned the photo. The post inspired his fans and they flooded his timeline with positive comments, congratulating him for the hard work.

Jimal revealed in a past interview that he runs a fleet of 32 matatus that ply different routes in Nairobi.
