Angel falls is one of breathtaking waterfalls in Venezuela, a country in South America. This waterfall is located deep in the rainforest and is only accessible by plane or boat and only the adventurous tourists go there. Angel Falls plunges over the edge of Ayan Tepui mountain forming the world’s largest uninterrupted waterfall with a height of 979m.
This place got its name from an American adventurer who went by the name James Angel. He was the first non-resident to discover the falls in 1933 after he flew over on a mission to find gold ores. However, in 2009 Hugo Chávez the then Venesualian president declared that the falls should be called Kerepakupai meru’ which means waterfall of the deepest place.
The unique landscape of this place inspired the novel ‘Lost World’ by Canon Doyle. The novel later was an inspiration for the Hollywood movie ‘ Up’ which premiered in 2009.
This place is truly magical and should be one the wonders of the world. Thousands of tourists flock here everyday though the best time to visit is during June to December. This is because it’s the rainy season and it usually brings the waterfall to life due to the full flow of water.
