Kenyan singer Pamela wandera has relinquished a new Swahili song titled Akina mama, a ballad that pays homage to women and the integral role that they play in society.

The veteran singer has been in the Kenyan music industry for over a decade and this has seen the outspoken songbird release a blend of genres ranging from gospel down to societal-influenced music.

She had already released uongozi bora a song which about good leadership and akina mama is the latest installation.

Akina mama in the Swahili lingua franca translates as To women, is a well-written and composed hymn that walks with Pamela Wandera as she narrates the significance of women in any given society.

She goes ahead to praise the women for being the backbone for success in any household unit and calls for women’s empowerment on a large-scale political, social, and economic level.
