Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has always been a firm proponent of polygamy so much so that some of her detractors have called her out for being a husband-snatcher.
But the legislator isn’t playing around with her reputation, refuting the claims that she stole husband Peter Waweru from his first wife, Zipporah Njoki. Waweru and Njoki have 3 kids together.
She said that it was Waweru who has been a childhood friend who wooed her and she fell for him. “I am not husband snatcher. Mimi Hukatiwa sikatiani (I am chased, I don’t chase). So please ask your men why they chase after me,” she said.
“The truth of the matter is Peter Waweru is not new to me. He is my childhood friend. Alinikatia na nikakubali. He is my man. Mali safi,” she added.

She went on to take a subliminal shot at Waweru’s first wife Zipporah Njoki saying she should reflect on what she is doing that has caused her to lose her man.
“These women who are complaining should do their homework well on their men and check around if there are areas of improvement that probably they need to work on if they need to keep them,” Waruguru blasted.
Waweru, who is the County Chamber of Commerce chairman himself declared that Waruguru was his wife (and not a mere girlfriend) a few weeks ago while also explaining that she was divorcing his first wife.
