We all know the cost of living has been skyrocketing with each dawn, something’s price has to go up almost weekly.
Yesterday vendors from the popular eatery known as Klabu, among other places put out notices informing their clients that chapati’s starting tomorrow would retail at 20 shillings.
This comes as a blow because originally it was the price of two.
“What atrocity is this ati chapati inapanda bei? 20 bob! For one chapati?” Chito complained.
Chapati’s are a fave to mean, you get full and you can have them with anything from tea to ndengu or wrapped in smokie and stuffed with kachumbari. What’s popularly referred to as smocha.
This does actually hurt people’s pockets because now for two chapati’s you’ll pay the price that originally would have been for four.
And we all know the vendors are going to make the chapati’s thinner or smaller even with the price hack.
“Ukinunua chapati, you have a lot of money…. in fact, if I see you with chapati’s run for MCA.” Chito added.
The cost of living is getting crazier by the day for the common mwananchi.
