Mulamwah’s baby mama Carrol Muthoni alias Sonnie has explained why she shaved her daughter against his wishes.
According to Luhya traditions, a newborn should have his/her hair shaved within the first months after birth.
In Sonnie’s case, she shaved her baby’s hair without Mulamwah’s permission.
Speaking to Massawe Japanni on Ilikuwaje she said, “Every tribe has its own traditions, we also have ours. According to Kikuyu tradition if I give birth at home I am to name my daughter after my mum.”
She added, “I do not want to say that was the reason why I shaved the baby’s hair. At that time were not on good terms. Plus I did not want to feel forced.”

Sonie says she wanted to understand why her baby’s hair had to be shaved.
“I wanted to understand why I was being told to shave my daughter. We talked after Keila came.
I hope we can put away our feelings and be there for Keilah, I do not want her asking me questions about her dad when she is all grown.”
Speaking earlier Mulamwah accused Sonie of denying him access to their child.
“Honestly ata sijui kama bado anaitwa Keilah, (I don’t know if she is still called Keilah) the mother told me she will change the names.
My family has never seen the kid (she refused to bring her home) alikataa kumleta home she even shaved her against our norms,” he said.
Let’s wait and see how all this drama unfolds.
