Hashtag #lowerfoodprices is trending in Kenya
On the Monday February 21 morning conversation with Maina and Kingangi, the topic was about food prices.
Kenyans are using the hashtag to make it known that the cost of living is unbearable and hit out at politicians at the same time for not taking it serious.
Maina told Kingangi that sadly, there is a section of Kenyans who don’t feel the pinch some of us are feeling.
‘there are people who are not feeling the effects of these things. They don’t even know what you mean when you say that. Yes they are Kenyans, and they are not bad people, it’s just that they are on a different level. Mkisema lower food prices, they don’t know what you are talking about’
‘What can you buy for a 100 bob?‘ Maina asked Kingangi to tell us. ‘Nothing’ Kingangi responded
Kenyans have taken to social media to protest against high food prices via the hashtag “#lowerfoodprices”
