Kenyan Tiktoker Mohamed Alby has opened up on how the app has made him famous.
Speaking during an interview with Mpasho, Alby says TikTok pays adding that people shouldn’t assume it is for idle people.
“I started my Tit Tok channel in 2021. It started as singing to random people in public especially to people who hawk groundnuts before we moved to pick up lines.
At the time I would just approach hawkers to sing and then buy their entire stock just to promote them.”

Alby says he currently uses his own pickup lines but on some days he uses lines from random people and credits them.
“We would sit in the car and come up with the punch lines with my friends, we would sometimes google up English pick up lines and then translate them to Kiswahili. Right now people share with me their lines and when I use them I give them credit at the end of my videos.”
Adding, “Tik Tok pays especially after monetization and after getting the blue tick. Brand deals and being part of the Tik Tok academy in East Africa pays.”
Alby who is half Kikuyu and half Moroccan says he plans on starting his own tour and travels company.
He is also a cinematographer, he also shoots company adverts among other things.
