Eric Omondi has opened up on the impact ‘clout chasing’ has had on his bank account.
The King of comedy says although he lost some deals, he gained many more deals that he lost hence he is okay with how things have turned out.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Mpasho, he says, “Eric Omondi is a big brand and people are taking advantage of that. Entertainment is wide and cannot be defined. My work is to make people laugh.”
He added, “How people started calling it clout I do not know.”
Asked whether he has lost endorsements because of his clout chasing antics, Eric responded, “I do not care. My style of entertainment has increased my endorsements. Corporates must realize the value we give them and they cannot dictate how we entertain people.”
Eric did not miss the opportunity to throw pots shots at Sauti Sol’s lead vocalist, Bien Aime Baraza, and hip-hop star Khaligraph Jones.
“I am different from Bien, Khaligraph, and Mulamwah. Everyone has their own style. If I stopped doing what I did there would be no Eric Omondi, If I stopped doing what I do you guys would really miss me.”

Adding, “‘The biggest corporate in the world is God, The biggest C.E.O is God, he runs the corporate known as the world. He determines what happens.
Eric Omondi has lost a lot of endorsements but he has also gained a lot of endorsements. I do not think there is an artiste who has as many endorsements as I have. It’s my talent sio dumba.”
Eric says people will wait for him to fail in vain as God cannot embarrass him before his ‘enemies’.
‘Eric Omondi keeps growing and changing that is why I am still here. I am unpredictable. I will never lack. Everything I touch will always turn to gold. It is not clout chasing, It is creativity. I do something you talk and I make money.”
