After months of speculations, it is now clear that Zuchu, real name Zuhura Soud, and Diamond Platnumz have been dating. They are set for a mega engagement ceremony on February, 14 before tying the knot, Pulse can authoritatively report.
“Zuhura, my daughter, I have raised you with proper morals and I know you are a girl who has always made the right decisions and as your mother I have nothing, but support for you. February 14 is going to be your big day, there is no woman who does not have this dream. May the Almighty bless you, I know you will not let me down,” Zuchu’s mother, Khadija Kopa, wrote on Monday confirming that her daughter was getting set for the big day.
“This day should not only be your biggest day on Earth, but also may it be the beginning of a happy new life. May the Almighty protect you, my last born,” she went on.
“Thank You, my mum,” Zuchu responded adding “Mwambieni this Valentine won’t be the same.”
And come Tuesday, Diamond and Zuchu released a short video of the two of them together.
Two weeks ago as rumours spread the two are an item, Kopa denied they were headed for a union. She denied Diamond had paid Zuchu’s dowry.

“If Diamond was my potential son-in-law, he would have already come and given his dowry, then I would have called him my son-in-law,” Kopa said.
“Diamond is not my future son-in-law and he has not come to me to ask if he can marry my daughter,” she said at the time.
In an interview with Pulse, Kopa spoke candidly on how she introduced Zuchu to Diamond after returning home from India, where the ‘Sukari’ singer was pursuing her education.
A celebrated singer, Kopa revealed that Zuchu almost got signed by a Nigerian music stable before she introduced her to Diamond.
“Zuchu was pursuing her studies in India. However, when she came back she told me she wanted to be a musician. Since childhood, she has been winning awards from all manner of music competitions in school. I urged her to finish her studies first, get a degree then we can discuss about her joining the bandwagon,” Kopa told Pulse.
“But before she even got her first degree, she won another award in music and many recording labels in Nigeria sought her to out, but all she wanted was to get signed with Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB).
“We both went to Diamond after she finished school, introduced her as my daughter and asked Diamond to hold her hand and help her where necessary, and now we have Zuchu as a whole brand,” she said.
“Everyone in my family is talented in music including my four children. In fact, my firstborn, the late Omari Kopa was a Bongo artiste, second-born Makopa is a gospel artiste and third born Black Kopa sings both gospel and Taarab. Zuchu now is a Bongo flavor artiste. Music is our God given talent. It runs in our blood,” Kopa added.

Asked why she didn’t introduce the other three to Diamond, Kopa said that they had never bothered to ask unlike Zuchu.
“They have never asked me. It is only Zuchu who did. Mtoto akililia wembe mpe. Zuchu aliniomba nikampeleka. For the rest, I am still trying to find other record labels that can help them grow their music career,” she responded.
“Nilimpeleka kwa Diamond nikamwambia amsikilize, amfanyie interview basi akifaulu amshirikishe kwa mambo ambayo utakuwa unayahitaji. Diamond akasema sawa akamsikiliza akanipigia simu akisema kwamba anafaa kwa hivyo mwache hapa (I took her to Diamond and asked him to interview her. He called me saying she qualified and that I should let him sign her,” Kopa revealed.
Ironically, Diamond’s mother Sandrah has been vocal asking her son not to marry Zuchu. She even claimed Zuchu’s family had bewitched her son with black magic.
However, Kopa has downplayed the matter, maintaining the two have no differences.
“We are good and we meet and laugh. So, stop creating beef. We are common people who our kids have brought together since they work together,” she dismissed the rumours.
