Celebrated comedian turned government officer Walter Mong’are aka Nyambane is finally set to receive his degree, 25 years since he got into campus.
The former Redykyulass rib-cracker, who is a State House staffer holding the Director of Youth Affairs post, wrote his last papers at Daystar University last week and is now awaiting graduation.
He first kicked off his campus life at Kenyatta University and has since enrolled in various institutions seeking a workable work and school formula, which he says he finally got at Daystar.
“Papers (school certificates) might not be everything, but they are important. I have finally cleared my degree course and I am looking forward to graduating. Daystar University provided a workable work and job plan and though the commitment was hectic, I managed to sail through smoothly,” Mong’are told Pulse.
Mong’are dropped his Nyambane stage moniker after joining the government.
“When the President gave me the responsibility to be in charge of youth in his office, he said ‘I will no longer call you Nyambane, now you are Walter’,” the former radio host said during a previous interview with Pulse.
