Former *Maria* television series actress Vanessa Hausa, popularly known as Wanjiku Stephens, has revealed her intention to venture into politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The actress, whose real name is Janet Kiama, has announced plans to contest for the Nairobi County Woman Representative seat, marking a new chapter in her public life.
Wanjiku shared the announcement through her Instagram account on Friday, October 20, 2026, where she posted a campaign-style poster outlining her vision for women in Nairobi.
According to the message on the poster, the former actress intends to champion women’s empowerment while ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed within the community.
Her proposed agenda focuses on creating opportunities for women and promoting their participation in matters affecting society.
However, despite expressing interest in the Nairobi Woman Representative position, Wanjiku has yet to settle on the political party she intends to use in pursuing her ambitions.
