Celebrated Kenyan actress Sarah Hassan is celebrating a proud parenting moment after her young son achieved an impressive milestone at school.
The award-winning actress recently shared her excitement after revealing that her son, who is approximately seven years old, had been selected as the vice captain of his school’s Under-9 boys’ cricket team.
The exciting news was shared through Sarah’s Instagram Stories on Thursday morning, where she posted a short video of herself walking hand in hand with her son.
Accompanying the video was a touching caption in which the actress proudly announced her son’s new responsibility ahead of an away cricket match.
“My little boy is the vice captain for today’s U9 Boys (away) cricket match 🥹🥰,” she wrote, adding, “Proud Mom.”
Her message reflected the joy and pride many parents experience when their children are recognised for their efforts and abilities at a young age.
Being appointed vice captain is an important responsibility for a young player, as the role can offer opportunities to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills while supporting fellow teammates.
Although the appointment is centred on sport, it also gives Sarah’s son a chance to learn valuable lessons about responsibility, cooperation and discipline from an early age.
Sarah, popularly known for her acting career and appearances in Kenyan film and television productions, generally keeps details of her son’s life away from the public spotlight.
Her decision to share the special moment therefore offered fans a rare glimpse into her family life and the milestones she celebrates as a mother.
The announcement has also drawn attention to the growing role of school sports in helping children discover their talents and build confidence.
For Sarah, however, the occasion was primarily about celebrating her son’s achievement and expressing her happiness at seeing him take on a new role.
Her heartfelt message captured a simple but memorable moment of motherhood, as she proudly supported her young cricket vice captain.
