For years, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has faced questions about his education, with some Kenyans questioning his academic journey. However, official parliamentary records show that the three-term lawmaker has a documented educational background.
According to the National Assembly website, Sudi attended Olympic Primary School between 1997 and 1998 before proceeding to Highway High School, where he is listed as having studied between 2003 and 2006.
He later joined the Kenya Institute of Management, where he pursued a Diploma in Business Management between 2007 and 2008.
These details are available in his official profile on the Parliament of Kenya website, providing information about his education and career before joining politics.
Sudi, who represents Kapseret Constituency in Uasin Gishu County, has previously spoken publicly about the criticism surrounding his schooling.
In August 2024, he addressed the issue during an interview with media personality Oga Obinna. He explained that financial challenges had affected his early life and said he began working at a young age.
The MP also stated that he valued education and wanted to help children from struggling families access learning opportunities.
In December 2024, Sudi received an honorary doctorate in Leadership, Administration and Management from Northwestern Christian University. The award attracted public debate, with the Commission for University Education stating that the institution was not accredited to offer university education in Kenya.
The honorary doctorate should be distinguished from an earned academic qualification. It was also not proof of a completed bachelor’s degree.
Sudi’s educational history has remained a subject of public interest because of earlier disputes over his academic credentials. Nevertheless, his parliamentary profile lists his diploma alongside his primary and secondary school qualifications.
As Kenya approaches the 2027 General Election, the records offer a factual account of the education listed for the Kapseret MP.
