A mother returning to her home in Kilimani, Nairobi, late at night was left in deep shock after discovering her 12-year-old daughter sleeping on the hard kitchen floor instead of her bedroom.
The woman had been away on a week-long business trip, leaving the young girl under the care of her father. However, arriving home at around midnight following flight delays, she found the house in total darkness, only to spot her child curled up on the cold floor with a thin shuka.
Desperate for answers, the terrified mother checked their master bedroom, only to find her husband missing. She then noticed light coming from under her daughter’s bedroom door and heard hushed voices inside.
“I froze when I saw what was happening inside that room,” the heartbroken mother recalled, recounting the overwhelming fear and confusion that gripped her at that moment.
Neighbors and local leaders have expressed concern over the incident, calling for quick intervention by local authorities to ensure the young girl’s safety and well-being.
