Kenyan lifestyle and travel content creator Nairofey has sparked conversations online after revealing how she earned KSh 416,000 in a single week through brand partnerships, social media advertisements and other influencer marketing deals.

In a reel shared on Instagram on Monday, October 13, Nairofey gave her followers a breakdown of the income she received, using M-Pesa confirmation messages, phone-screen recordings and an earnings graphic to explain how the money added up.

The revelation offered a glimpse into the business side of content creation, showing how influencers can earn from several income streams beyond posting ordinary social media content.

According to the breakdown, Nairofey began the week by earning money from two Instagram Story placements. One involved a product review, while the other was a straightforward advertisement.

She also completed a week-long brand review that earned her $1,000, adding a significant amount to her weekly income.

Another source of revenue came from a monthly brand contract whose payment had been pending but was eventually received during the same week.

Apart from direct payments, the content creator benefited from collaborations that provided products and services without requiring her to pay from her own pocket.

A beauty brand gave her a public relations package, while a salon offered manicure, pedicure and other treatments valued at KSh 10,000.

She also received a pair of shoes through an ongoing collaboration.

Additionally, Nairofey earned commissions through a hair brand’s arrangement, which paid her a percentage whenever customers purchased products using her link. She withdrew the accumulated earnings during the week.

By combining the different payments, commissions and collaboration benefits shown in her breakdown, the creator presented a total of KSh 416,000.

While the amount attracted attention, Nairofey cautioned that influencer income is not always consistent.

“The reality of being an influencer is that some weeks you make really good money, and other weeks you can make close to zero,” she wrote.

She added that knowing how to price one’s services and understand personal worth was essential.

Her disclosure has offered aspiring creators an insight into the opportunities available in influencer marketing, while highlighting the importance of diversifying income sources and negotiating fair compensation for their work.
