A Tanzanian prophet has revealed why he allegedly prevented the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo from attending one of his overnight church services.
According to the prophet the businessman had contacted him after expressing interest in visiting his church. Chivayo reportedly sought permission before making the trip and wanted to attend the night service.
The prophet said he eventually decided not to allow the businessman to attend the gathering. He explained that his decision was based on circumstances surrounding the request and what he personally believed was appropriate at the time.
The revelation has attracted attention following Chivayo’s death in a helicopter crash in Zimbabwe. His passing has prompted renewed interest in various stories involving the businessman and his activities before his death.
The prophet’s account has since circulated online with social media users discussing the circumstances surrounding the alleged conversation between the two men.
However the claims remain based on the prophet’s account and have not been independently verified. There is also no indication from the available information that the decision was connected to Chivayo’s subsequent death.
Chivayo died alongside his wife Lucy Muteke and other occupants when their helicopter crashed near Marondera on September 30. His death has continued to generate widespread attention in Zimbabwe and beyond as family members prepare for his burial.
