A video circulating on social media has sparked concern among Kenyans after it appeared to show a young woman being confronted and physically handled by another woman inside a washroom.

The footage was shared by Nairobi Gossip Club on Instagram and has attracted thousands of reactions and hundreds of comments. Among those who interacted with the post was Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy.

The video shows several young women inside what appears to be a modern washroom.

One woman, dressed in a black long sleeve top and grey pants, is seen standing close to a wall as another woman confronts her.

The woman confronting her appears to speak angrily while pointing at her. The other woman responds with hand gestures, seemingly attempting to explain herself as the situation becomes tense.

Moments later, the confrontation appears to turn physical. The woman with maroon hair is seen holding the other woman around the neck area and pushing her towards the wall.

The footage also shows the woman trying to move away while the confrontation continues. Two other women remain nearby during the incident, with one appearing to cover her mouth as she watches what is happening.

Text displayed over the video describes the woman as being frightened and emotionally exhausted during the encounter. Another message questions why people would support or tolerate bullying.

According to the caption accompanying the social media post, the woman was allegedly being physically confronted while trying to apologise. The post has since generated strong reactions from Kenyans, with many calling for action and accountability over what is shown in the footage.

Some social media users have expressed concern about the decision to record and share the incident, particularly because the woman appears distressed during parts of the video.

The circumstances surrounding the confrontation, including what happened before the recording began and the identities of those involved, were not established in the information accompanying the viral post.

The video has nevertheless renewed discussion online about bullying, harassment and the importance of protecting people from physical intimidation in public spaces.

As the footage continues to circulate, attention remains focused on calls from social media users for the matter to be properly investigated and for appropriate action to be taken if wrongdoing is established.
