Through the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), the Kenyan government ordered all motor vehicle owners to remove any modified or unapproved lights from their cars as of today, September 25, 2026.
All car owners who reside inside Kenya’s vast boundaries are required to remove illegal illumination from their vehicles, including strobe lights and light bars, according to the Kenyan authorities.
In addition, the Kenyan government forbade car owners from equipping any of their vehicles with sirens. The new rule, according to the state, is intended to guarantee that all traffic laws and regulations are strictly followed.
The prohibition on the use of sirens, light bars, strobe lights, and other similar devices resulted in the stopping of numerous vehicles at different checkpoints. The NTSA said in a statement released today that “all motor vehicle owners are advised to remove modified or unauthorized lights from their vehicles to avoid any inconveniences.”
