Ugandan entertainment has been plunged into mourning following the death of popular comedian and TikTok creator Timothy Kayanja, widely known by his stage name Jayden.
The 24-year-old entertainer died on September 15, 2026, while undergoing specialised medical treatment in India. News of his death was shared by fellow content creator Sheila Price, leaving fans, friends and colleagues grieving the loss of the young entertainer.
Jayden had reportedly struggled with serious health complications for several years. His condition later became more complicated after he developed aplastic anaemia, a disorder that affects the body’s production of blood cells.
His medical battle attracted significant attention in Uganda, with friends, fellow entertainers and members of the public joining efforts to raise funds towards his treatment.
Jayden eventually travelled to India, where he underwent a bone marrow transplant in July. Initial reports indicated that he showed signs of improvement following the procedure.
However, his health later deteriorated, forcing doctors to admit him to an intensive care unit as they continued efforts to stabilise his condition.
The comedian rose to prominence through humorous videos shared on social media. His entertaining content earned him a sizeable following, particularly among young Ugandans, making him one of the familiar faces in the country’s growing online entertainment scene.
Following his death, social media platforms have been filled with tributes from fans and fellow content creators. Many have remembered Jayden for his humour, youthful spirit and ability to bring happiness to his audience.
Meanwhile, funeral preparations have been underway in Uganda. A programme released by his family indicated that mourners would gather at St Kizito Catholic Church in Namungoona, with his burial scheduled for Thursday, September 24, in Wakiso District.
Jayden’s death has left Uganda’s digital entertainment community mourning a young talent whose work brought laughter to many people.
